Some answers to some common questions you may have.
DOESN'T MY SPOUSE/CHILD AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE MY ASSETS WHEN I DIE?
Not always. If you have children, your spouse will not receive all of your estate and may receive less than your children. If you have separated from your ex-spouse but have not finalised your divorce, your ex-spouse and your new partner may be entitled to receive an equal share of your estate.
WHY SHOULDN'T I USE A WILL KIT OR AN ONLINE WILL SERVICE?
People who make homemade Wills, despite their best intentions, sometimes make invalid Wills. Certain legal requirements need to be satisfied to ensure that a Will is valid.
Mistakes in Wills may cause significant cost and delay to the administration of estates. Some gifts may fail completely, resulting in provision not being made for those intended and unwanted disputes between family members.
